I graduated from Prairiland High School, Paris Junior College, and Texas A&M-Commerce with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Reading.
I also attended the University of North Texas where I studied Biology and Chemistry. I am CPR certified as well.
I continue my education taking leadership, differentiation, Capturing Kids Hearts, Dyslexia, Poverty, Eduhero, Gifted and Talented, and technology training throughout the year. I am a life long learner.
This is my 10th year at Aikin, and my 17th in PISD. I currently teach 4th grade Science and Social Studies
I started teaching in 1998 at Mt Pleasant Jr. High, teaching 7 th grade Science, Journalism, and Coaching Track and Girls Basketball. In 2004, I began my career with Paris ISD teaching 1st grade at Justiss Elementary. In 2011 I moved to Oklahoma and taught Science and English at Hugo Middle School where I was also Cheer coach. I have taught 4th grade English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies at Aikin since returning to Texas.
I have four children: Jordan, Lawren, Ashlee, and Tristan
Tristan is a 4th Grader at Aikin!
When I am not at school, I am doing something with my family. We love summertime and we love to swim, ride horses, camp, fish, and go to the beach. I love to spend time with my kids and grands. I love to read and I love the color purple!
