4th Grade
I graduated from Prairiland High School, Paris Junior College, and Texas A&M-Commerce with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Reading.
I also attended the University of North Texas where I studied Biology and Chemistry. I am CPR certified as well.
I continue my education taking leadership, differentiation, Capturing Kids Hearts, Dyslexia, Poverty, Eduhero, and technology training throughout the year. I am a life long learner.
This is my 7th year at Aikin, and my 14th in PISD. I currently teach 4th grade ELAR and Social Studies virtually
I started teaching in 1998 at Mt Pleasant Jr. High, teaching 7 th grade Science, Journalism, and Coaching Track and Girls Basketball. In 2004, I began my career with Paris ISD teaching 1st grade at Justiss Elementary. In 2011 I moved to Oklahoma and taught Science and English at Hugo Middle School where I was also Cheer coach. I have taught 4th grade English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies at Aikin.
I have four children. Jordan 24, Lawren 16, Ashlee 14, and Tristan 6. Tristan is in 1st grade here at Aikin! We live in the country and have horses, dogs, and chickens, guineas, and ducks..
When I am not at school, I am doing something with my family. We love summertime and we love to swim, ride horses, play softball, Tae Kwon Do, Church, gymnastics and cheer. We like camping, fishing, and the beach. I love to spend time with my kids. I love to read and I love the color purple!
