Music Teacher
I graduated from Burleson Centennial High School in the Spring of 2020. I just graduated from Ouachita Baptist University May of 2023!
At Ouachita, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies. I am currently working on my Master of Divinity in Biblical Studies. Biblical Studies and Theology are my main passions, but music has been a huge part of my life! I was heavily involved in the music department in high school and college. I was a part of a World Championship drumline for 4 years throughout high school, and I participated in the steel drum ensemble and drumline in college.
2023 is my first year to be teaching at Aikin. I’m thrilled to be here!
Music has been a part of my life since I was a child. My father has led the music ministry at the churches I’ve attended my entire life. I started learning different percussion instruments when I was in the sixth grade, and I have been involved in percussion ever since. My family has also sung together for years! Music is truly a foundational part of my familial and educational experiences.
There are five members of my family. My dad, Brian, is the music minister at East Paris Baptist Church. My mom, Missy, teaches Spanish at Paris High School. I’m the oldest of three kids. My brother, Brandon, is a junior at Ouachita Baptist University. He is studying Accounting, and he plays the snare drum on the drumline. My sister, Madelyn, is a freshman at Ouachita this year and is studying Communications. She just graduated from Paris High School (as Valedictorian!!).
When I’m not teaching, I love to read and listen to podcasts! I’m a perpetual student!
